If they curl into a \u201cC\u201d shape you have a curl grub problem on your hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"What_curl_grubs_feed_on\">What curl grubs feed on?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Curl grubs change their diet in the varying stages of their growth. In their earliest phase, grubs feed on decaying organic matter. Once they become a bit bigger, <a href=\"https:\/\/fantasticservicesgroup.com.au\/blog\/what-is-eating-seedlings\/\">white grubs will feed on grassroots, as well as roots of vegetables and flowers.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the late stages, white curl grubs tend to cause the most damage to lawns and garden beds as this is the time when they\u2019re feeding the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Curl_grubs_life_cycle\">Curl grubs life-cycle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The life cycle of the curl grub is pretty simple.<strong> Adult beetles mate and lay eggs throughout the spring season. Once the grubs hatch they spend the whole summer feeding on your lawns and plants in your garden beds, pupate in the autumn and rest in the winter months.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"How_to_check_for_a_white_curl_grub_infestation\">How to check for a white curl grub infestation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Curl grubs hate it when their environment is wet. A simple way to see if you have an ongoing curl grub infestation is to cover a portion of your lawn or garden bed with cardboard after watering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leave it overnight and check it the morning after. If you find any white curl grubs present beneath the cardboard-covered area, then you have an ongoing infestation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"section section--single-post\">\n\t<div class=\"note note--warning\">\n\t\t<div class=\"note__icon\">\n\t\t\t<i class=\"icon-warning\"><\/i> <!-- \/.icon- -->\n\t\t<\/div> <!-- \/.note__icon -->\n\n\t\t<div class=\"note__body\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>Keep in mind that one or two grubs aren\u2019t a cause for concern. It\u2019s only normal to have insects in your soil. You should be worried if large amounts are present.<\/p>\t\t<\/div> <!-- \/.note__body -->\n\t<\/div> <!-- \/.note -->\n<\/section> <!-- \/.section section--single-post -->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"How_to_get_rid_of_white_curl_grubs\">How to get rid of white curl grubs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While curl grubs can cause a lot of damage, they\u2019re pretty easy to deal with. Some DIY pest control methods work well if applied at the right time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can effectively control and kill white curl grubs in the soil by applying Neem Oil. The product works by both disrupting the growing stages of the grubs and stopping them from feeding on the sprayed plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to use Neem Oil as a grub control method, you should apply it in mid-summer. Spray the lawn or garden bed with vegetable oil and you should start seeing results within a week. <strong>This method can also be applied to affected potted plants as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a week to wait, the fastest way is to <a href=\"https:\/\/fantasticservicesgroup.com.au\/insect-pest-control\/\">use pesticides to kill the curl grubs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"How_to_prevent_a_curl_grub_infestation\">How to prevent a curl grub infestation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Maintaining the soil well irrigated can help keep curl grubs away from your property. Make sure your turf is thick and at a minimum of 5cm in height. This is a great way to ensure grubs won\u2019t lay eggs in your yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like with any other type of infestation, prevention is key.
